## Summary / General Information

As of July 2025, Kenect is improving our opt-in functionality allowing this capability **directly from the product**. These new features will allow admins on the platform to:

- **Upload Opt-In Status with Your Contact List**
When uploading contacts using a CSV file, you can now include whether each person has already opted in to receive text messages.
- **Send Opt-In Requests to Existing Contacts**
You can automatically send a request to contacts who haven’t yet given permission to receive marketing texts.
- **Organize Groups Based on Opt-In Status**
You can now create or manage contact groups based on whether someone has opted in, opted out, or hasn’t responded yet.
- **Customize Opt-In Settings for Your Business**
Admins can choose how and when opt-in requests are sent, and whether messaging is allowed before consent is given.
- **Sync Opt-In Consent from Integrated Tools**
If you use a DMS that integrates with Kenect, it can now share each contact’s opt-in status automatically.
 - **Important Note****: **supported DMSs below offer opt-in *writeback *to the integration. All other integrations can only have opt-in communicated to **Kenect** platforms.

### **Kenect + Service AI Platform Opting Unification**

With our latest product release, **Kenect** and the **Service AI **platforms now feature **bi-directional synchronization** of recipient opt-in and opt-out preferences.

Here’s what that means for you:

- **One action, applied everywhere**: When a customer opts in or out of messaging (for example, by replying STOP), that preference is instantly applied across both Kenect and the Service AI platform. You no longer need to manage preferences in each system separately.
- **Real-time updates**: Our systems communicate using robust cloud integrations to ensure preferences are honored in near real time.
- **Error monitoring and reliability**: Behind the scenes, we’ve added advanced logging and alerts to keep the sync stable and reliable.
- **Recipient-driven control**: Only recipient-initiated actions (like texting STOP or opting in via web forms) automatically sync. If you need to block messaging to a contact **manually**, you must still apply the **Do Not Text** setting directly in the platform.

This enhancement simplifies compliance and improves the experience for both you and your customers. If you have questions about how this sync works or how to apply global blocks, please contact our support team.
