The purpose of this article is to provide you with the instructions you need to get your text us button powered by Kenect to function on your website created through GoDaddy. If you encounter any issues after adding, first contact your own website designers, then contact your Kenect Customer Success Manager

#### **Step-By-Step Guide**

**Step 1:**

Log into your GoDaddy account.

**Step 2: **

Navigate to your website builder.

**Step 3:**

Locate where on your web page you want the widget to exist. *Note: The Kenect recommendation is to create an independent section for the code of the button. Depending on how your site currently has been created you may have a menu option you need to open to display additional pages. Simpler sites will have the correct page available at the top of the browser.*

**Step 4:**

Add a section on the webpage(s) of your choice for the button.

**Step 5: **

Once the section has been added, a sidebar will open on the left-hand side where you can edit the section. Under the 'search' feature, search for: HTML, and once found select 'Add' or 'Add Again' if you have added HTML code previously.

**Step 6:**

Give the section a title such as "Text Us" or "Send Us A Text" *Note: The Kenect recommendation is to focus on the 'text' option. Creating a title header such as 'Contact us' or 'Ask a question' may negate the positive of a 'text message' specific option.*

**Step 7:**

After you have added a title, paste the Kenect html script into the Custom code field.

**Step 8:**

Once you have copied the code in you will need to adjust the "Forced Height" field. Kenect recommendations for placement:

- *Button placement in the top right or left needs to be near the title for a GoDaddy site, this kind of placement will need to be adjusted by your Kenect admin.*
- *For normal button placement in the bottom right or bottom left for the height, start with 600 and move towards 800 as needed in the forced height field. The height needs to be large enough that when a customer engages with the button and selects a department the entire box appears. If you do not adjust the height the customer will not be able to open and fully utilize the text us button.*

**Step 9:**

Once you have made the changes, select 'Publish'. *Note: In this section there will be a lot of empty white space, the Kenect recommendation is to, if need be, adjust the height BUT leave it large enough for the button to fully expand. Between 600-800 will allow for the button to fully expand.*

After publishing your button make sure to refresh your page to see the changes made. Also make sure to check both the desktop and mobile versions of your site to see how the changes have reflected.

# **FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions)**

**After creating my section, I still don't see the button?**

- It's possible that you may have not done one of a few things:
  - Published the changes
  - You did not copy the html code correctly
  - You have made changes with a Kenect admin that were not saved
  - You have not adjusted the 'Forced Height' so you are able to see the button in it's entirety
  - You may need to log out and back in to see changes
  - Clear your cache and cookies
  - Update your browser

**I have other websites can I add the text us button code there as well?**

- Our text us button can exist on as many sites as you would like it to. Just make sure that on other sites the html coding goes into the header of the website so it displays on all pages. Some websites may need specific instructions (Such as 'shopify', 'wordpress) *Note: The best tool for adding widgets to other sites will be your own internal website designer, Kenect works to be a helpful participant in changes you will want or need to make but your own designers will be the most helpful)*

**Is there an easier way to put my code into my GoDaddy site?**

- At this time, No. There is not a simpler work-around for adding the text us button. Normally with other websites, you only need to post the code into the header of the website. If you are willing to look at some potential new websites, it could be easier.
