# **Purpose**

In this article, you will learn how to add contacts using 'import contacts' function in Kenect. Uploading your contacts makes it easy for you when you have multiple contacts needing to be added to your account. 

 

# **Adding Contacts Via Upload**

#### **Step-by-Step Guide**

1. Select 'Contacts' from the main toolbar in Kenect.

2. Click the three vertical dots located to the right of the search bar then select "Import Contacts.'

3. If you have multiple locations, you will need to indicate which location will receive these contacts. You will need a CSV file to upload your contacts, make sure you have the following information: First Name, Last Name, Mobile Phone.

4. Select 'browse for the file' to add your CSV file then select 'Import Contacts.'

> ℹ️ *Note: you can drag and drop your file, if preferred. *

# **Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)**

- **Are any other file formats acceptable to upload contacts?**
  - No, you will need a CSV file format before you can upload your contacts.
- **Do the column names HAVE to match the First Name, Last Name, Mobile Phone headers? **
  - Yes, please make sure your CSV file has the appropriate column headers: First Name, Last Name, Mobile Phone. There is one exception for column headers, but it is not recommended. You can have the following headers: First, Last, Cell. We advise you use the exact wording to avoid any potential uploading issues.
- **Are special characters acceptable for uploads?**
  - If the contact's name (first or last name) has a special character, there is no issue. The mobile phone cannot have any special characters. This will cause an uploading issue.
- **Can you contacts be added automatically? **
  - Yes, we have many integrations into software that can import contacts automatically. Please reach out to your Customer Success Manager to see if you have an integration upgrade available.
