#### **What are my Kenect Notifications?**

Your Kenect notifications provide you with the means to be notified when you have a change happen in Kenect related to any of the toggles you see in the below image, while slightly different in appearance, these same notifications exist in the mobile app as well. This article will work through the function and purpose of each notification, helping you better understand how you want your Kenect to function. To find your notifications in the desktop version, navigate under settings in the bottom left-hand corner and from the pop-up select 'Notifications' you will then see a screen with the below image. For notifications in the mobile app, select settings in the bottom right and on this page select 'Notifications'.

*Note: If you have access to multiple Kenect locations, you will have to navigate between the different locations to enable them, on the desktop you can toggle in the upper right-hand corner. On the mobile app before going to the notification screen you will have the option to select the specific location you want to edit for.*

> ℹ️ #### *Note:*
> ℹ️
> ℹ️ - *Notice that there are two toggles 'Desktop/Mobile' and 'Email', if you prefer not to receive emails make sure to leave off the email toggle, and vice versa for the Desktop/Mobile toggle.*
> ℹ️ - *Sections 1-8 are notifications for Kenect users who have access to Kenects 2-way texting product and the Inbox tab. If you do not have this feature and want to learn more, please contact your Customer Success Manager*

#### **Section 1: Lead Received**

The first section of notifications 'Lead Received' relates to users who are responsible for seeing any brand-new, first-time messaging in text message quickly. These messages can originate from both the main text-enabled number as well as the text us button on your website. If you are going to be in a role that doesn't require seeing brand-new text messages from new clients, you may want to leave this option off entirely.

#### **Section 2: My Leads**

Section 2 is very closely related to Section 1, you can enable Kenect to send you a repeat notification if you are concerned you will miss the initial notification or you work in a role that requires you be away from your desk for prolonged periods of time. In addition, you have the ability to 'Edit Schedule' of how long after the message comes in you want to be notified again, as well as how many times you are notified.

*Example: You set up the schedule to remind you 5 minutes after the initial message comes in, and to remind you 3 times. *

#### **Section 3: Team Leads**

If you operate in a role as the head of a team of individuals you may want to enable this toggle to ensure that a lead assigned to a specific team is answered in a timely manner. Again, closely related to Sections 1 and 2.

#### **Section 4: All Leads**

If you are an administrator of Kenect this would definitely be a Kenect best practice recommendation to enable. As anytime any new lead comes in, you will be notified if it has not been responded too within ex-amount of time.

#### **Section 5: Assignment Received**

Assignment Received is a must for notifications enabled if you know you won't be actively viewing Kenect at all times. When any message thread is assigned to you from another staff member you will be notified of that message. This notification functions for both you as an individual and for any teams you are a part of.

#### **Section 6: My Messages**

Similar to Section 5, My messages is a key notification that it is recommended by Kenect you enable. Like a text message on your phone, this notification is for any messages you specifically are waiting for a response on. Make sure you have this one enabled.

#### **Section 7: Team Messages**

While not as crucial as Section 6, can still be valuable if you have teams you are a part of. Whether you have staff on the team who are out of office or you are the kind of person who likes to make sure everything is getting answered. Functions to notify you when your team receives a new message.

#### **Section 8: All Messages**

Section 8 is a cover all. The Kenect best practice is that this notification really only be used when ABSOLUTELY necessary. It can create an unnecessary amount of notifications. *Examples: A large number of staff are out of office, you don't want to enable other notifications. *

#### **Section 9: Reviews**

Whenever your business receives a new review for either your Google My Business page or your Facebook business page, you will receive a notification that the new review is now synced inside of your Kenect account, allowing you to respond if that is part of your role, or simply view the received feedback from your customer.

> ℹ️ **Update August 20th, 2024: **You now have the ability to decide if there are certain star ratings you want to be notified of, rather than all reviews. (*See example screenshot below*)

#### **Section 10: Review and Feedback Summary**

Instead of just a simple notification of reviews, this sends you a daily summary of all new reviews received as well as any 'private feedback' provided to you by your customers.

#### **Optional Sections 11 & 12**

For clients who have Text2Pay enabled, you will have the additional sections 11 & 12. These are titled: "My Payments" and "All Payments". They function almost exactly like Sections 6 and 8. Decide for yourself if you want these enabled.

In summary, notifications are a great way to ensure that as you get comfortable with Kenect you have enabled it to better serve you in whatever role you function in.

# **FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions)**

- **I'm having trouble with notifications on my mobile app?**
  - The first step in diagnosing mobile app notifications is make sure within your app itself you have the correct toggles enabled. If that is all confirmed proceed to the next step.
  - Navigate to your notifications center on your device. This is normally found under settings under 'Notifications'.
  - Under your notifications on the device, navigate to the 'Kenect app' and make sure you have allowed notifications.
  - You can then control your alerts and the style of those alerts deciding if you want options like 'Sounds or Badges'.
  - If after adjusting your settings you are still not receiving notifications also make sure your device and Kenect app are running on the latest version. Also make sure you have a good network connection.
- **I'm showing that I have notifications on my Kenect mobile app icon, but when I login, everything is marked as read?**
  - If you are showing that you have unread messages on your Kenect mobile app icon, this can be connected to a few things:
    - As a Kenect administrator if you have access to all messages, you will have an icon for not just your messages that are unread, but any team members message that is unread. In order to clear those out, either have the assigned team member open the message, or assign the message to yourself and read the message.
    - If you are not a Kenect administrator, at the top of your inbox switch from the default 'Open Messages' to 'Unread' or 'Need Response' this will help you quickly identify if you have messages that you do have unread. Kenect doesn't automatically mark messages as 'Read' so if you have very old messages you haven't read, open and read them to remove the notification icon.
- **I'm not receiving notifications in my browser about new messages?**
  - Making sure your notifications are coming through on your desktop can be tricky but this question will help take you through everything Kenect can do to help.
  - PC: For a PC make sure that inside of your respective browser the first thing you have done after enabling notifications is click on the lock symbol to the left of the URL app.kenect.com. When clicked on, you should see the following image:

- Make sure that the four options you see above: Notifications, Pop-ups and redirects, Sound and Automatic downloads are turned on. If they were turned off you will need to refresh your page after enabling.
  - If after you enable these options you are still not receiving notifications, next check that your Google Chrome is up to date. *Note: This is done by navigating in Google Chrome to the very upper right corner and click on the ellipsis icon located just beneath the 'X'. Once this dropdown opens click on 'Settings' located about 1/4 of the way up from the dropdown. On the next page on the left hand side of this page scroll down to the option 'About Chrome'. Up at the top of this page it will tell you if you are on the latest version of Chrome.*
- **I'm not getting notifications directly on my desktop of new messages?**
  - New messages on your desktop can be tricky and requires some additional diagnosing.
    - Make sure that you are using a newer computer/laptop. If your computer is more then 5 years old you may simply not have the capability to see desktop notifications as Kenect pushes releases that are always new and require faster, newer equipment to get the most out of.
    - In your desktop settings search for 'Notifications'. Make sure your toggles for notifications are enabled and aren't set for only certain times of day.
    - Also make sure under 'notification enabled' apps that you have Google Chrome enabled to send you notifications.
    - Another note. Desktop notifications are meant to appear when Kenect is not open on one of your screens, if you have Kenect open a desktop notification will not be pushed through, it would have to be minimized or hidden in order for a desktop notification to populate.
- **I'm getting too many notifications!**
  - In referring back to the notes on each section, simply decrease the number of enabled notifications. For the most user friendly experience, only have Sections 5, 6, 9 and sometimes 10 enabled. You of course can reduce even further depending on frequency of messages received.
