In this article, you will learn how to start a video chat within Kenect. Video chats are a great way to communicate with your customers when they are not present at your location or if you need to quickly show them something. Video chats are available on both mobile and desktop versions of Kenect. *For instructions on starting a video chat on the mobile app, scroll down to the bottom of this article.*

# **Start Video Chat on Desktop Version**

#### **Step-by-Step Guide**

1. Open an existing conversation in your Inbox or start a new conversation by clicking the blue '+' followed by entering their phone number.
    
2. Click the video chat icon located in the message toolbar.
    
3. Click 'Send' to send the video chat link invite to your customer.

> ℹ️ *Note: video chats are powered by Jitsi, they can either download the Jitsi app or create an online account to connect online. Links to the app and online are provided in the message.*

Click 'Join' to open your video chat.

4. Enter your name (above Join Meeting) and check the 'I understand the risks' checkbox to join the meeting. Note:

> ℹ️ * Note: You will need to allow access to your Camera and Microphone.*

6. **IMPORTANT: **If this is your first time using video chat, you will need to log in as the moderator. Once you are in, you will no longer need to log in as the moderator as it will keep you logged in for future video chats.

#### **Step-by-Step Guide**

1. Open an existing conversation in your Inbox or start a new conversation by clicking the blue '+' followed by entering their phone number.

- **Will my customers need to download the Jitsi app in order to join the video chat?**
  - No, they can access the video chat by clicking the link that takes them to Jitsi online. If you are frequently using video chats with customers, it would be easier for them to download the app for quicker access.
- **Can I have more than one person on the video chat?**
  - Yes, you can add up to 30 people to a video chat. You have the ability to invite other people from within the video chat. Click on the person icon located in the meeting toolbar.
- **Can I share my screen in a video chat?**
  - Yes, screensharing is available in the meeting.
- **Is it only for iPhones? **
  - Video chat works on any device!
