In this article, you'll learn how to use Inbox Filters. This article also provides information regarding how to best utilize the filters to: Look at a given period of time, finding information for specific teams or users, and filtering for different message types or statuses.

# **Step-by-Step Guide**

1. From the Inbox page, underneath ‘Open Conversations’, select the ‘Filter’ icon.

2. Once you select the ‘Filter’ icon, the filter options will expand.

3. Each Filter provides a different function:

 

a. Date Range: Allows you to look at one (or more) messages over the course of a given period.

b. Teams: Allows you to look at messages that involve one (or more) Teams that have been created within Kenect that you have permission to view.

c. Assigned Users: Allows you to look at one (or more) messages from Users that have been created within your Kenect.

d. Message Status: Allows you to look at messages that fall into the categories seen below: (*also corresponds to the inbox types located in your main inbox screen*)

e. Message Source: Allows you to look at the different sources of messages that enter Kenect, seen below:

> ℹ️ <u>***A quick note about Message Source:***</u> *Kenect cannot identify from filters the beginning origin of all specific text message source conversations, whether that originated from your Kenect instance by a member of the staff sending out a text, or from a client who sent the first text message directly to your Kenect instance. Facebook and Web Form source options will show you those texts that did originate from either your Facebook business page or the text us button enabled on your given website. 4. To engage multiple or one of the filter options above you must select them and then hit the apply button located on the filters page: All inbox messages regardless of status (Closed, Needs Response, Read, Responded, or Unread) that were sent over the given selected period will be shown.

5. Once your date option or multiple filters are chosen, you can then navigate through your inbox using either the status type.
7. Or the Search bar once status type is selected.

# **Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)**

- **I can’t see EVERY message after using a filter. Why not?**
  - While filters can be used to navigate through your message database, you can only see as many messages as your inbox permissions are set to. Consult with your manager or the lead user of Kenect to adjust your settings. (See article: How to add a user)
- **Where do I search for specific texts after using a filter?**
  - The search option located on the main inbox page of Kenect makes it easier after utilizing a filter to identify a very specific text using either keywords, the name of the contact, or a phone number. Simply type in your query and the inbox will automatically filter to only find the entered selection (You do not have to hit an Apply button after entering information into the Search bar
