# **Frequently-Asked-Questions**

- **Are there any warnings for uploading a Recipient Group for broadcast messaging?**
  - Yes, if you decided to upload a list of contacts as a new group for your broadcast message, and there are contacts on that list that currently exist in your Kenect account, ***you need to ensure that all contact information is CORRECT***. If it's not accurate, the file you upload will update the existing contact information with the new inaccurate information.

**Please ensure your file criteria has the EXACT information and is accurate. **

- **Is there a character limit to broadcast messages? **
  - There is not an exact character limit, but the longer your message is, the more likely your message will have poor deliverability, if not full deliverability failure. For example, messages that contain up to 2,000 characters will likely experience deliverability issues. We recommend staying below 1,600 characters to be safe with Carrier limitations.
- **Can we add attachments to broadcast messages?**
  - No, you will not be able to add any attachment to the message itself.
- **Can we send links or emojis in a broadcast message? **
  - Mobile phone providers tend to block broadcast messages that include links and or emojis. For this reason, Kenect recommends avoiding the usage of links and graphics.
- **What is the minimum and maximum number of messages I can send at one time? **
  - One is the minimum number of recipients. The maximum per day limit is 1000 messages. Contact your Customer Success Manager if you do not know which package you have. However, Kenect will at the maximum, parse your message into groups of 1,000 per day.
- **Does my broadcast message allotment count toward individual messages I send, or the number of recipients?**
  - Kenect counts the number of recipients against your total allotment of broadcast messages.
- **How can I tell when I've used my broadcast message allotment, or how many I have left?**
  - An in-app notification will be sent when you are closing in on the total allotment broadcast messages.
- **Can I edit and/or delete an already scheduled broadcast message?**
  - Yes, you can do this by clicking on the preview of the scheduled message within Broadcast Messaging tab and "Edit". From there, you can delete it completely, change the message and also change the time it is scheduled to be sent.
- **Can I see more data around the results of a broadcast message?**
  - Yes! You now have the ability to see message and failure status. Simply click on the “Download Detailed Results' button on the specific broadcast message sent!
  - *Example image: *

- **When I send a broadcast message, who is assigned the messages to respond back?**
  - After sending a broadcast messaging if you have individuals on the list who have previously been messaged with Kenect, their responses will return to the most recent owner of those messages. If they have never been messaged before they will be assigned to whomever sent the broadcast message!

## **Broadcast Messaging: Terms of Use**

- **Kenect Broadcast Messaging is a great way to send hundreds of messages at a time to a specific group of your customers.**
  - **Sending a Broadcast Message to over 1000 contacts at a time will extend delivery. Some messages may not be delivered for several hours. Generally, the longer your list, the longer it will take to deliver.**
  - **Please consider how many times you are messaging any given customer. You are at a much higher risk of your phone number being blocked and customers permanently opting out if you message your customers too frequently.**
  - **When possible, stay away from using emojis, images, “@” symbols, and hyperlinks. These impact deliverability rates and are at higher risk of being marked as spam. When possible, consider including the name of your business so that customers recognize who is sending the text message.**
  - **Broadcast Messaging was not designed for emergency or time-sensitive communications. Please plan your communication strategy in advance. If you have a large group of customers you are trying to text, you will need to create those lists in your CRM and upload those lists to Kenect. You may need to break up your list into smaller groups and send your message over several days.**
  - **You are responsible for determining if you need to comply with state and federal laws regarding text messaging such as the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA).**
  - **It is recommended that you only send text messages to customers who have given you their phone number, not to a purchased list of phone numbers.**
  - **If you are sending messages to customers you have NOT done business with in the last 18 months, you may need to scrub your list against the National Do Not Call Registry.**
