# **Purpose**

#### **Clarification:**

After a large number of conversations with active Kenect customers, The Broadcast Messaging Scheduling UI (User Interface) will be updated to reflect a 1,000 message daily limit. When scheduling Broadcast Messages you may receive new notifications regarding the message you are creating. These updates will preserve the message counter and help messaging that you have enjoyed since the last update and aligns the displayed limit. In the interest of accuracy and transparency, this same limit will apply on the backend for Broadcast Messaging specifically. As before, the limit does not impact 1:1 messaging for unlimited customers.

#### **Why Is It Updating?**

In a recent update to Broadcast Messaging, a daily limit was introduced to protect the wider network of customers from performance degradation, and a daily limit of 2,000 messages per day was displayed in the UI. This is part of Kenect’s evolution toward a more transparent and user-informative experience. We will continue to strive for a more powerful and flexible messaging experience moving forward.

# **The Future of Messaging**

#### **Broadcast Messaging/Group Analytics and Improvements**

The following listed enhancements have been rolling out over the past several weeks, with the final pieces taking place in the next few weeks.

- To provide you, the user, with critical information about broadcast messages, we’ve added a results table that includes:
  - Number sent
  - Number delivered
  - Number failed to deliver
- In the table mentioned above, a new CSV download option will be provided with more details including:
  - Contact details (first, last name, phone number)
  - Message Status
  - Reason for failure (if applicable and available)
- When a Broadcast Message is sent, the phrase “Text STOP to opt-out” will be appended to every message, providing an automated degree of compliance coverage to customers.
- Users now have the ability to remove opted-out contacts from a group.
- We’ve added a new dialog to remind users to save or send before navigating away from a Broadcast Message in progress.

#### **Opt-In**

We are SIGNIFICANTLY updating our current opt-in functionality to keep pace with an evolving market, particularly for our largest and most risk-averse customers. This work will begin in Q4 2024, with planned delivery by NADA in January 2025

- Enterprise opt-in administration and management
  - A new opt-in settings page for various parts of the product (i.e., 1:1 messaging, broadcast messaging, etc.) to disallow texting to contacts who have not opted-in when and where the organization is ready.
  - Filter views and export reports on contacts who have opted-in
  - Time stamps added for every opt-in, including from integrations and uploads
  - Tracking the opt-in source
  - Tags on the contact record to indicate opt-in
- Opt-in Collections
  - All widget leads opted-in and sent automatic opt-in message
  - Provide opt-in message when customer initiates text messaging
  - Require contact uploads to indicate whether a contact has opted-in
- Opt-in through Integrations
  - Pull in opt-in status on a contact record through available integrations and sync regularly

**Elevated Campaign Management Experience**

The design team is hard at work creating a new campaign management experience to improve usability for our customers. Development is slated to begin in Q1 2025

- Extract the campaign manager out of the Integrations are and elevate it as a tier-1 experience with the Kenect application.
- Simplify the user experience using a mobile-first design approach.
- Provide intelligent defaults for scheduling messages
- Provide easy-to-apply entrance and exit criteria for campaign automations
- Sets the stage for creating future out-of-the-box campaign automations.

#### **Messaging Automation**

Customers have asked Kenect to help them automate messaging to consumers. Our team is researching use cases, with auto-scheduling service appointments being a primary possibility. This work is slated to begin in Q1 2025.

- Automated messaging to customers who fit defined campaign criteria.
- Automated provisions made for desired response, non-response, no interest, opt-out, and off-the-wall responses.
- For automating service scheduling, provide a scheduling link to a Kenect service scheduler that integrates with the DMS and makes the appointment with the dealership.
- Exploring the same for non-Auto.
